School Overview
Istituto Superiore di Osteopatia (ISO) was founded in 1993 based on the experience of the first Italian Osteopaths who started in 1983 with the Italian Institute of Osteopathy (IIO). Thanks to the structure of its curriculum, ISO collaborates with leading European Osteopathy schools, particularly British schools. From the academic year 2013/14 there are official partnerships with Buckinghamshire New University (Bucks) and the British School of Osteopathy (BSO). These collaborations, combined with the changes and innovations made to the courses, guarantee ISO students a unique degree program in Italy for quality and title. The synergy between ISO and Bucks allows to our students of full Time Course (Type I) to attend a "3 + 2" course that will give them the chance to get a Bachelor at the end of the three-year term and a Master of Science at the end of the two-yearly internship. The Part-time course (Type II), for students with a degree in Phyisiotherapy and Medicine, is a 5-year postgraduate degree course that allows to complete the Diploma in Osteopathy (D.O.) recognized by the Osteopathic Registry of Italy (ROI). In partnership with Bucks in January 2018 will also start the new Master of Science in Advanced Osteopathic Practice, the first part-time master course for Osteopathic Professionals with academic validation of 120 ECTS. With this course ISO inaugurates a new and unique course in Italy that will enable Osteopaths to reach a master level with validated and certified credits
