The sixth Open Forum "Teaching Osteopathic Diagnostics"
The sixth “Open Forum for Osteopathic Education” Conference took place on 18th & 19th October 2018 in Lyon, France. Following the focus on Teaching and Osteopathic Education in previous Open Forums this year’s topic was “Teaching Osteopathic Diagnostics”. There were 100 participants from 16 countries. Represented were osteopathic schools from whole Europe, Australia, Canada, USA and Malaysia.
Teaching clinical reasoning, reliability, osteopathic approach etc. can be difficult and each school has a different diagnostic model in place. This is why sharing, discussion and exchange of knowledge and experience about this topic was and is very important.
The two days programme of the conference included presentations one of which was a live-stream video-presentation, workshops and poster presentations in the following areas: clinical reasoning, reliability, osteopathic approach and more. Q&A sessions and a big discussion/evaluation session on the second day were planned to make the whole experience more interactive. Also videos on the topic of ‘clinical examination in diagnostics’ were presented by several schools.
