OsEAN Open Forum Teaching the Soft Skills

For a long time the soft skills like professionalism, communication or self-regulation have been a blind spot in osteopathic education, and even now many schools are struggling to get a grip on topics that are harder to define, teach and assess than anatomy or technique. This is why the next OsEAN Open Forum will focus on the topic “Teaching the Soft Skills”, featuring presentations and workshops in these important areas:

  • Osteopath-patient communication
  • Professionalism and ethics
  • Self-regulation and self-care
  • Maximizing the placebo effect / the other (scientific) way to measure therapeutic effect
  • Patient-care according to the WHO-definition of health
  • Competencies (CanMEDS and other systems)

As we did for previous Open Forums, we have arranged the dates of this conference in conjunction with one of our member schools, the Wiener Schule für Osteopathie, who will organize a separate conference on the topic of "Mindbody | Bodymind" at the same venue on April 23rd - 24th. You can attend the conferences back to back, although a separate registration is necessary.

We are looking forward to receiving your submission and to meeting you all at this exciting event!
