The fifth edition of OsEAN "Open Forum for Osteopathic Education" Conference with the topic "Teaching the Soft Skills" took place on April 21st and 22nd 2016, in Vienna, Austria.
There were 65 participants from 17 countries. Represented were osteopathic schools not only from whole Europe but also from Argentina, Australia, Canada and USA.
The two days programme of the conference included keynote lectures delivered by presenters from the United Kingdom, Australia, Italy and the Netherlands and other presentations and workshops in the following areas: osteopath-patient communication, professionalism and ethics, self-regulation and self-care.

For the first time during this year's Open Forum OsEAN introduced its Research Award. Five students (Jérémie Agius, Mariantoinietta Alò, Jane Beazley, Alizée Glotain and Juliette Vallier) from four of our member schools (CEESO Lyon, CROMON, ESO, IdHEO) competed for the Prize: First place - € 500, Second - € 300 and Third - € 200.

Here are the winners:
1st place won Jane Beazley (former student of ESO/U.K.) for her project "A study to observe patient involvement in shared decision making at ESO teaching clinic, compared to National Health Service physiotherapists."
2nd place went to Jérémie Agius (graduate from IdHEO/France) for his project "Physiopathology, diagnosis and treatment of adhesive capsulitis/frozen shoulder: a literature review".
3rd place was awarded to Juliette Vallier (graduate from CEESO Lyon/France) for her research "In Vitro Fertilization in women. Effects of osteopathic manipulative treatment in premature Ovarian Insufficiency".

Congratulations!

As we promised during the conference all presentations can be found on the open forum website openforum.osean.com. In order to make the access and download easier we put all of them together in a zipped folder called: Presentations - OsEAN Open Forum 2016. This way you can download all presentations at once.

OsEAN would like to thank all participants, presenters and workshop leaders for being part of the conference! Without you there will be no open forum! It was a pleasure for us to welcome you in Vienna and we hope you enjoyed the Open Forum as much as we did.

Danke schön and see you next time!
